Meet Dianne
I'm City Councillor Dianne Saxe, and Toronto has been my home my whole life – my family has deep roots here, helping to build our city into what it is today.
For my part, I built my career as an environmental lawyer fighting for sustainability. In 2015, I was appointed Environmental Commissioner of Ontario – serving independently and speaking up whenever the government got it wrong. When Doug Ford abolished the office after I published reports critical of his environmental policies, it only deepened my resolve to stand up for our communities.
I then served as Deputy Leader of the Ontario Green Party, where I crafted its Roadmap to Net Zero and contributed to its Mental Health and Housing policies. This path ultimately led me to City Hall, where I've proudly served as a City Councillor in Ward 11 the past four years.
I bring a record of proven results, independent progressive thinking, and a commitment to action.

Why I'm Running
At City Hall, I've built a track record as a pragmatic progressive who gets things done – delivering real, measurable results for more affordable housing, faster transit, greener parks, safer streets, and thriving local businesses.
We've made a real impact this past term, but there's still more work to be done.
Residents of Toronto–Danforth tell me they are feeling the same pressures facing communities across Toronto, while navigating the realities of a growing and changing city.
- As the new Ontario Line gets built, we need to ensure the work gets done quickly, limiting disruption for residents and businesses.
- As we establish safer, healthier ways to get around, we need to keep making it easier to walk, take transit, and drive while protecting our city's cycling network and better connecting our neighbourhoods.
- And because we know that growth strengthens our neighbourhoods, we need to continue building more affordable housing, while maintaining the character, heritage and green spaces that make them special.
- We'll support local businesses to help them flourish by providing the necessary support so they can continue to thrive for years to come.
That is why I'm putting my name forward to represent Ward 14 at Toronto City Council.
I'm running here because I think I can make you proud and that Toronto–Danforth deserves experienced representation, especially in this economically turbulent moment.
Together, let's get things done for Toronto–Danforth and build Toronto into a more liveable city for everyone.
